Initial Idea

For our cross pathway project we've had a tonne of ideas and we're hoping to combine a few of them to best show off our individual personalities and skill sets. The main idea behind our exhibition piece is informed by http://www.b-stormers.com/motionpaintings/ and their DVD 'Barnstormers 360'.

The DVD features many artists (mainly known through street art/graffiti) collaborating onto one canvas, but the canvas just happens to be a full size barn that was carefully disassembled and rebuilt in a gallery space. Throughout the exhibition each artist was invited to come in and paint whatever they wanted onto the side of the barn, but once one had finished the other would work right over the top of the previous work. The whole process is capture on video and speeded up so we dont have to watch paint dry but it also stands as the only record that each individual artists work existed.

The Gestalten website is still selling the DVD and features a sample clip...
